What we don’t keep

Search terms, selected text and clipboard content are never uploaded, and never enter usage statistics or diagnostics.

Opening sites and searching don’t go through SeekHop’s servers. The content goes only to the site you choose, which handles it under its own rules.

History on your computer

The desktop app keeps a history on your computer by default: the input and result of each smart processing or method run, and text read from screenshots (never the screenshot). In Settings you can turn it off, keep it for 7, 30, 90 or 365 days or forever, or clear it any time. It isn’t uploaded, synced or backed up.

Reading selected text

SeekHop reads selected text directly where it can. When an app doesn’t allow that, it briefly uses a copy and tries to restore your clipboard. If reading fails, the interface says so.

Screenshot OCR

Only the screen area you capture is sent to the recognition service, to read the text. SeekHop and its servers keep neither the image nor the result. The recognized text is saved only in the history on your computer, where you can delete it any time. Screenshot OCR requires sign-in.

Accounts (optional)

Opening, searching, methods and Discover work without signing in. Sign-in is only for screenshot OCR, smart processing, multi-device sync (Plus) and subscriptions.

Sign-in uses your Google account. We store the Google account identifier, email address, sign-in times and security records needed to create and protect your account. We never read your Gmail, Drive or contacts.

Synced data (Plus)

With sync on, your website apps, methods, desktop layout and preferences are stored on our servers to sync between devices. Search terms, selected text, clipboard content, screenshots and recognized text are excluded; window and startup options, shortcuts, language and appearance are not synced.

After Plus ends, synced data stays readable for 30 days.

Version and update information

When checking for updates we receive the app version, operating system family, an installation identifier, the update channel, and the result and time of update checks and downloads. We use them to ship releases and investigate problems; when you’re signed in they may be linked to your account. They never include search terms, text, files or screenshots.

This website

The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregated visits and page performance. It doesn’t collect what you type, track you across sites or use advertising or marketing cookies.

The page language follows your browser’s language setting, decided only in your browser. A language you switch to manually is kept only in the current tab and cleared when it closes.

Payments

Paddle processes Plus payments. We never see or store your card details.
