Sharing rules

What you can share, and how it works.

These rules apply to every usage you share and every rating you give.

What a usage is

A usage is a short list of website addresses and settings: pages to open and searches to run, up to four. It is not a script, and never includes passwords, tokens or anything that logs someone in.

What you can share

  • Things you made yourself, or that are free to share.
  • Plain https addresses that anyone can open.
  • Search addresses with one {query} placeholder where the search text goes.

What isn’t allowed

  • Addresses that carry personal information, account identifiers, login credentials or tracking parameters.
  • Pages that imitate another site or pose as its official team. Only a verified owner can publish a website’s official usages.
  • Anything illegal, deceptive or harmful, including phishing.
  • Rating your own usages, or rating in bulk to push a usage up or down.

How review works

New usages are checked automatically, then by a person, and answered within 48 hours. A change to a live usage appears once approved.

If a usage is turned down, the reason is shown and you can appeal in the creator center.

What is public

Your public name, your usages and their ratings. “N people use it” appears only at 10 or more people, and we never show who added it.

Counts come only from people who chose to help improve SeekHop, so they are lower than the real number.

Taking things down

You can take any of your usages down at any time. We may take a usage down, or pause an account’s sharing, when these rules are broken.

If you delete your account, your public name goes with it. Your usages stay up and show as “Deleted account”.

Honors, not payments

For now, recognition is the reward: a founding creator mark, a place among the picks of the week, and “adopted by the website” when a site’s own team takes your usage as theirs. Nothing is paid.
